Job DescriptionNetwork Security Manager is responsible for protecting Harbor Freight Tools' digital assets by designing, implementing, managing, and monitoring network security systems and controls.
Additionally, The Network Security Manager leads a team of technical resources and also represents Information Security Group to other departments, ensuring that corporate systems and networks are securely designed and implemented.
Examples of systems the Network Security Manager may be responsible for include Firewalls, Network Taps, IDS/IPS, Log Management Systems, and Advanced Malware and Threat Prevention services at the Network Level.
The Network Security Manager must also have some degree of experience with secure cloud-based environments.
The Network Security Manager is expected to act as a leader and manage and mentor other technical resources on the Network Security Team.
The Network Security Manager must also be able to manage complex projects with minimal oversight.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide security engineering solutions for all areas of the infrastructure.
Provide IT risk management guidance to the organization.
Design, implement, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot security defense and monitoring tools, including configuration management, network security, systems security, and monitoring systems and tools.
Works closely with enterprise IT, Business, and other functional area specialists to ensure adequate security solutions are engineered and deployed in cloud environments and together with other platforms to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Researches, designs and advocates new cloud security technologies, architectures, and security products that will support security requirements for the enterprise and its customers, business partners and vendors.
Proactively identify, define, and implement new security controls as necessary.
Provide analysis of emerging threats as needed.
Clearly and effectively document and communicate both existing and proposed solutions and configurations, including producing data flow diagrams, logical diagrams, physical diagrams, and standard operating procedure documents as required.
Work as a liaison between Information Security and IT to ensure proper implementation of security controls, standards and policies.
Manage and maintain technical controls and processes for compliance purposes, including PCI compliance and IT General Controls (ITGC).
Provide technical guidance on cloud-based security for SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments, and be able to operate in such environments from a Network Security perspective.
Develop, enhance, and execute operational security processes, including incident and event handling.
Lead and mentor other security engineers on the team to enhance their capabilities.
Run complex engineering projects with minimal oversight.
Act as a leader on the team, providing technical thought leadership.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of security controls.
After hours work, shift work, and on-call pager may be required.

Travel - 5-10%RequirementsJob Qualifications - Education and ExperienceCompletion of a Bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university with a major course work in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
Security training and certifications (CISSP, CCNP) preferred.
Skills RequiredExpert-level understanding of security concepts, network protocols, and principles, and practices.
Prior management experience of technical personnel and vendor relationshipsExperience with network intrusion protection solutions, log management/SIEM tools, strong authentication, packet capture/analysis, and cloud (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS) security.
Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco Security platform, including firewall hardening, WildFire, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, Firepower, and other platform-level security controls.
Ability to develop risk-based, prioritized action plans to improve overall security and risk posture,Experience with process, procedure, and standards development.
Experience implementing complex technical security solutions.
Forensics and incident response experience a plus.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong team player with a can do attitude.
Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
At least seven years of information security experience, with strong preference for engineering.
Physical RequirementsGeneral office environment requiring ability to:
Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time;Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone;Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports;Lift up to 15 lbs.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $ 138,000 - $207,000 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience.
This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan.
Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays).
