The key to our specialized curriculum is that it's designed to engage kids in a short period of time while still leaving them with a concrete understanding of important scientific and engineering concepts and ideas.
In this fast-paced world of high-speed everything, we value high quality in-person interactions to produce a new generation of thinkers and a community engaged with science.
WHAT WE DO:
Love working with kids and having a blast? Professor Egghead Science Academy is an awesome after school program that makes science accessible, understandable, and fun for Kids ages 5-10.
We run hands-on science classes, camps, workshops, and birthday parties for children at different locations all over Los Angeles and Orange County.
Most programs are ONE HOUR after school and start around 1-3 PM.
Many days, but not all, have the option of back to back hours at a location.
We're looking for AWESOME and ENTHUSIASTIC Professors for our program! Specifically looking for candidates that have availability Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 2-5pm.
REQUIREMENTS:
1) Be FUN, have lots of ENERGY, and be POSITIVE.
Improv Actors and those with outgoing personalities are perfect.
2) Have experience working with children.
3) Have a consistently reliable way to get to and from job sites in a timely manner and transport materials (usually in a 2 x 3ft rolling bin).
4) Be able to commit to an entire semester of classes, which is approximately 3 months depending on season:
Winter (January-March); Spring (April-June); Summer (July-August); Fall (September-December).
5) Pass a background check.
You DO NOT need any background in science, just a great attitude, a natural curiosity and the ability to work well with children.
We train you, and training is paid.
This is a part time position.
We are looking for instructors available on weekdays between the hours of 1-5 PM to work 1-4 hours/day from Monday-Friday.
Must be available at least 3 days out of the week.
