Bakery Research and Development Kitchen Manager / Pastry Chef

Use knowledge and initiative to improve product quality, ingredient approvals, production efficiencies, bake qualifications and product training. Responsible for the sourcing of new ingredients as well as working closely with the production team in the sourcing of equipment. Support sales with product presentations and reformulation for the customer. Maintain product pars and inventory levels of test kitchen ingredients. Ensure that product quality standards are consistent and act as a liaison between the marketing, R&D and manufacturing functions. Support development of multiple prototypes that deliver on written concept- bake description, operational feasibility and financial realities. Work closely with the sr. manager and VP of R&D to develop new items for company, clubs and food service. Support the work flow of R&D technicians. Maintain a daily schedule of kitchen projects and activities. Work closely with the sales and marketing departments on product innovations, trade shows and product sampling. Prepare food costs for new product development. Develop working specifications for new product development. Develop and maintain effective relationships with other team members and is very flexible in assisting on other projects in the department. Work in partnership with production and quality assurance to refine product specifications to deliver execution consistency and viability. Support the learning and development of the manufacturing team, as necessary, to conduct training of product initiative test runs and ramp up. Take on additional projects as required. Demonstrate leadership qualities and professional maturity consistent with company core values. Builds relationships with other members of the R&D team, supply chain,corporate R&D, QA, etc., with open channels of communication and collaboration. Will be a leader in keeping the R&D kitchen in like new condition, assist with the management of all food products, safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
Requirements
2 years minimum experience in pastry. Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, organize and complete multiple projects efficiently and on time, ability to design, implement and analyse primary research and work with minimal supervision. Communicates with poise, polish and professionalism. Embraces and encourages team member feedback at key milestones in process . Ability to identify problems and create new, innovative solutions. Experience and knowledge of cheesecake is preferred. High level of integrity and highly developed work ethic . Ability to use existing resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues . Demonstrated ability to identify and implement creative solutions . Food Safety and Sanitation certified is a plus. Proficient in Outlook, Excel and Word.
Education
Bachelor degree in culinary arts (heavy concentration in pastry)

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
