Job Overview:
Excellent knowledge on Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, Routers and switches, IPv4,IPv6,OSPF,OSPFv3,RIP,STP,VLANs,DHCP,HTTP,SNMP,NTP, HDLC, FRAME RELAY, VPN ,PPPoE etc.
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Internet technologies including firewalls, web applications, server load balancers, caches, IPS/IDS sensors, remote access (IPSec, SSL VPN) devices as well as anti-malware solutions.
Knowledge of Virtualization and Cloud services.
Experience with Security tools like Firewall, IDS, IPS, Backtrack, Metasploit is considered an asset.
Formal training and certification in networking concepts such as Cisco certification is desired.
Automation experience, especially Perl, Tcl would be considered an asset.
Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities:
Respond to incoming Service Requests from Customers and Sales team via email or phone or other online tools.
Remote Support, On-site Support, Installation and Trainings for Spirent customers whenever required, on products and technologies
Diagnose, troubleshoot and debug Spirent and third party computer networking equipment like Routers/Switches/Firewalls/Load balancers/Proxies etc. for software/hardware troubles
Communicate with Engineers and Product Managers regarding Bugs/Features/Enhancements and follows-up to make sure fixes are received and tested.
Advises management on product development issues arising from product problems identified through technical support calls with customers.
End to end ownership of customer issues that appear to arise from the usage of Spirent products.
Completes and maintains records of customer issues, product defects etc., using Spirent's CRM tools (Salesforce) and Knowledgebase.
Other duties as required or assigned by manager.
