Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directing independent adjusters and/or perform field investigations to successfully evaluate, negotiate and resolve commercial multi-line claims that are typically issue oriented and complex in accordance with Best Practices

  • You will manage a select number of accounts, which will require an awareness of the client?s needs. This will require meaningful communication with the client and building a strong working relationship is essential

  • Selecting and managing the proper experts and/or defense counsel to develop and execute on a strategy to resolve litigated claims. You will be required to develop a litigation plan in conjunction with counsel and the client, as well as track and control legal expenses in order to reach a fair but cost effective resolution of the claim. As an integral part of the underwriting team, you will be required to assist in the drafting/modifying of relevant policy and coverage terms

  • Keep the underwriting and global claims team current on loss trends and market intelligence. Additionally, you will be expected to provide relevant loss information on claims responsible for driving loss development on your assigned accounts

  • As part of the Global Claims Team you will be expected to contribute to the success of the team by working closely with your colleagues worldwide on various projects as directed by the Chief Claims Officer. This may include attending various industry conferences, possibly as a speaker/presenter, publishing on current claim trends and issues and assisting other offices on complex claims

  • Strong communication with underwriting and other partner groups within the organization

  • You will be required to attend mediations, court conferences and trials

  • Some travel is required

Required Skills & Qualifications?:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Commercial Casualty and Property Claims Adjuster

  • Primary claims experience with a frequency driven book is preferred

  • Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of ISO CGL and Property forms is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of current case law

  • Experience handling a wider variety of general liability claims, including real estate, construction/construction defect outside, and products liability.

  • Insurance related professional designations/education such as CPCU,IIA & SCLA is a plus

  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Candidates may be asked to provide writing samples

  • Analytical, decision making and resource management skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong commitment to providing superior client service

  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and various in-house claims systems ?is a plus)

  • Multiple state adjuster licenses are a plus

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
